Welcome to my stop on the
Tasty Review Tour for OUTSIDE THE LINES by Kimberly Kincaid. I’ve been a huge
fan of this series from the beginning when I first read LOVE ON THE LINE by
Kimberly Kincaid, so it was an automatic yes, when I was asked to join this
tour to read and review this wonderful second chance romance novella. Be sure to hang till the end - there's a giveaway!!

Blurb for OUTSIDE THE LINES:
As an ivy-league ER doctor who eats double shifts for
breakfast (and lunch…and dinner), Blake Fisher has little appetite for anything
other than work. Being on the staff at Brenstville Hospital means taking care
of people, a need Blake understands all too well from losing his brother to
cystic fibrosis eight years ago. When he’s asked to coordinate a carnival
fundraiser for the cause, he jumps at the chance to help others with the
disease…until it lands him side by side with the one woman he never thought he’d
see again: his ex-fiancée.
Streetwise and rough around the edges, Jules Shaw is no stranger to earning a living through hard work. But when her job as the restaurant manager of Mac’s Diner puts her shoulder to really broad shoulder with Blake Fisher, she nearly balks. She’d rather dodge and deflect than admit the real reason she broke things off, but the catering contract for the carnival means big business for Mac’s, and feeding people is Jules’s lifeblood.
As Blake and Jules join reluctant forces, they quickly rediscover the spark between them. But the possibility of a future together hinges on coming clean about the past, with potentially devastating consequences. Can Blake and Jules overcome their drastically different backgrounds and learn to love again, or will they always be outside the lines?

* * * * *
Jules Shaw has a
troubled past. She grew up without the benefit of a loving family having been
hustled from foster home to foster home. While still a teen, she was forced to
drop out of school to get a job in order to support herself. While working at
the local university, she met and fell in love with a young pre-med student. Life
was good until it was time for him to go to the city for med school. He wanted
her to go with him but his mother quickly intervened. Jules did what she
believed was the best thing for the man she loved - she left.
Blake Fischer has never
forgotten the girl he loved and lost. Left with only a note saying she was
leaving and no explanation as to why, he’s now back in Brentsville and working
as a doctor at the hospital. When he accepts a position as coordinator for a
fundraising event, his heart is slammed hard when Jules Shaw, the woman he’s
never stopped loving and never gotten over, turns out to be the caterer and
project planner of the event.
Working together on the event throws
these second chance lovers back into the sexual tension mix. Jules is terrified she’ll fall in
love with Blake all over again and Blake wants to win her back, but first he needs
answers and some honesty.
OUTSIDE THE LINES by
Kimberly Kincaid is an excellent continuation of the series, and Blake and
Jules are meant for each other. We met both these wonderful people in the
second novella of the series, DRAWING THE LINE. Jules is Serenity’s best
friend and second in command at Mac’s Diner and Blake is the handsome doctor
that took care of Serenity after she was banged on the head by the bad guy.
I adore second chance
romances and this one is exceptional. This couple fights their own desires,
their own pasts, the memory of their happy past together that ended in heartache, while being cheered on by
the greatest of characters – Blake’s cousin, Aaron. He is a hoot. Kimberly
hooked me again with her spontaneity, her integration of food as a memory
teaser and seduction tool, and the reinforcement that when two people are meant
to be together even the wickedest of family can be convinced that it’s what’s
meant to be. She even gave me some tearful moments - nothing like falling in love a second time.
I highly recommend
OUTSIDE THE LINES by Kimberly Kincaid to everyone who has already read the
first two novellas in this series as well as to anyone who hasn’t. If you love
second chance romances, you will love OUTSIDE THE LINES by Kimberly Kincaid
starring a generous and kind-hearted food connoisseur, and a sexy doctor who will have you thinking up reasons to visit an emergency room to see if there’s
one available for you. Oh, and be sure to check out the yummy recipe at the
end. To die for!
Happy Reading Everyone!
About the Author:
Kimberly Kincaid writes
contemporary romance that splits the difference between sexy and sweet. When
she's not sitting cross-legged in an ancient desk chair known as "The
Pleather Bomber", she can be found practicing obscene amounts of yoga,
whipping up anything from enchiladas to éclairs in her kitchen, or curled up
with her nose in a book. Kimberly is a 2011 RWA Golden Heart® finalist who
lives (and writes!) by the mantra that food is love. She has written two
digital novellas, LOVE ON THE LINE and DRAWING THE LINE, about hot cops and
sexy chefs, with a third novella, OUTSIDE THE LINES, due this summer. She is
also thrilled to have collaborated on a Christmas anthology with Donna Kauffman
and Kate Angell, titled THE SUGAR COOKIE SWEETHEART SWAP, to kick off her Pine
Mountain foodie series with Kensington this October. Kimberly’s first
full-length novel, TURN UP THE HEAT, will follow in February 2014. She resides
in northern Virginia with her wildly patient husband and their three daughters.
