by Robyn Neeley

(You’re very welcome, Robyn. It’s always a pleasure to have you visit and I’m very excited about FALLING FOR MR. WRIGHT.)

Robyn:  Merriest Holidays to everyone!
Be sure to enter my Fall for Mr. Wright this Christmas Rafflecopter Giveaway!

FALLING FOR MR. WRIGHT:

After being dumped two weeks before his wedding, civil engineer Ryan Wright’s not interested in love. Been there, done that, had the wedding deposits to prove it. Still, he can’t help lusting after the fiery redheaded executive assistant who’s stirring up feelings that aren’t exactly appropriate for the office.

Sarah Leonard is determined to make the CEO fall in love with her. To execute her plan, she’s going to need a little help in the form of her lunch buddy, the 6’2” office hottie who just so happens to be their boss’s best friend. Who better to tell Sarah everything she needs to know to win the other man’s heart?

Ryan agrees to help Sarah put her plan in motion, but he has no intention of helping her win anything. In fact, it’s time to show his office crush that he’s the guy she should be falling for…

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Robyn: In this scene, Sarah accompanies Ryan home to Connecticut to attend an awards gala at his former high school. They wind up alone on the football field where Sarah suggest Ryan show her his quarterback moves.

(Everyone, I hope you enjoy it. FALLING FOR MR. WRIGHT has definitely been added to my TBR list. Happy Reading!)

EXCERPT:

Ryan cocked an eyebrow. “You want me to tackle you?”

“Yes.”

“In that dress?”

Sarah looked down at herself. Whoops. “Okay, maybe just don’t let me win so easily.”

“Okay.” He motioned her to get back into position down the field. “Get ready.”

“I should warn you,” she called to him. “Before I fed the chickens in high school, I ran two miles each morning.”

“Noted.” Once again, he lobbed the ball in her direction. Knowing he’d follow, she grabbed the ball out of the air and ran as fast as she physically could in her dress. Ryan caught up a little too quickly for her liking, so she dodged right and then quickly faked a left, throwing him off just long enough to dash straight for the end zone.

Before she could celebrate victory, Ryan grabbed her waist and lifted her off the ground. “I win, I win!” she shrieked between laughs. Ryan gently put her down and she turned around, standing inches from him. “See? I wouldn’t have lost you a game,” she said, hugging the football.

“Nope,” he said, not moving from his spot. Maybe it was the champagne, or maybe it was her pesky new football-player fantasy, but she stepped closer into his space.

“Are you going to show me how you celebrated touchdowns? I’d love to see you do one of those funny dances players do.” “I could do that.” He touched her cheek with his knuckle, letting it linger. “But I’d rather do this.” He leaned down and brushed her lips with his.

Just a simple touch of warm, soft skin that left her drifting forward. And then it was over. Ryan pulled back, his eyes hooded, his gaze hypnotizing. She clutched the football and blinked up at him, her mind swirling with a thousand thoughts.

At the top of the list? Holy crap. Ryan Wright just kissed me. Followed quickly by, I want him to do it again. No. Bad idea. Ryan was her colleague. Her friend. Kissing him would ruin everything. She’d have to quit her job because no way could she pretend like nothing happened, and it would hurt too much to see him, knowing a momentary lapse of judgment cost her their relationship.

She willed herself to step back…and failed. What are you doing? You’re supposed to want Logan. You’re here, at this gala, for Logan.

But was she? When Ryan invited her, Sarah had been prepared to say yes before he even mentioned Logan. She’d never had as much fun with a guy in her life as she’d had with Ryan the past year. He was incredibly hot, apparently thought she was hot, and was by far one of the most thoughtful and charming men she’d ever met. He’d rescued a kitten at the expense of his arm, for God’s sake.

Did she mention he was hot?

Screw it. One more kiss—just a little one—wouldn’t hurt anything. “Sarah, I’m sor—”

She spiked the ball and tugged Ryan back down. His immediate groan sent thrills skittering across her chest, and lower. His mouth fit over hers perfectly and, oh God, that only added to her desperation. She parted her lips, inviting him in, needing to taste him. She might die if she didn’t.

So much for a little kiss.

(Thank you, Robyn!)

CHRISTMAS DINNER by Robyn Neeley

“Arrive at destination on left.” The familiar voice of Tate’s GPS echoed throughout his Jeep, interrupting the soft sounds of Christmas music.

This couldn’t be right. Could it? He pulled onto the side of the road. His navigation system had taken him down a dark and twisty path for the last fifteen minutes. There were few homes on either side. He shook Amanda’s shoulder gently. His eyes focused on the spectacle in front of him.

“What time is it?” She yawned and sat up. “Are we here already?”

“That’s what I would like to know. Amanda, is this your parents’ house?” He leaned over his steering wheel and peered out the window. In front of him, thousands of decorative red and green lights flickered on rows of Christmas trees at the bottom of a hill, showcasing what he could only describe as a cross between Santa’s Village and the middle of Times Square. A blanket of snow stretched at least a quarter of a mile up the hill. At the top was a beautiful two-story mountain log cabin. Glistening white Christmas lights outlined the house.

Amanda sighed. “Yep. We’re here.”

“This is amazing. Amanda, is your dad Santa Claus?” he asked, half joking.

“Not quite.”

“They could land 747 jets on your front yard. That tree in the middle has to be over thirty feet tall.” He pointed to the west side of the lawn. “Is that a horse and sleigh over there?”

“The horse is fake. I’d rather not talk about the sleigh.”

“Then we won’t.” He suspected she might have some unpleasant memories of it involving the infamous ex. Perhaps it was the scene of the aborted proposal.

Amanda sighed. “Good. Did your parents decorate their lawn for the holidays?” She reached behind her for her bags.

“No. Well, yeah, I guess. But this, well, this . . . wow . . . It’s just really something.”

WYNTER’S JOURNEY by Jennifer DeCuir

Okay, it was go time. What was the first thing they were supposed to do? Sam looked wildly around the room. He kept his voice calm, and hid the tremors that threatened to rattle his teeth loose. Wynter was counting on him.

He got her into bed and rushed to his desk in the corner. Jerking at the mouse to wake up the screen, Sam brought up the website he’d been studying just a few short hours ago. He thought he’d had more time.

Yeah, he’d been anticipating this. It was Vermont–in the dead of winter. Chances were pretty damned good that a snowstorm would make a routine hospital delivery less and less likely. And he’d been right to assume that Wynter wouldn’t take the contractions seriously until it was too late. She was too stubborn for her own good.

So they were doing this. Another scream from the bed had him yanking the power cord from the laptop and carrying it with him back to the other side of the room. The website hadn’t bothered to explain that hearing his best friend’s gut-wrenching cries of pain would push his own stress levels beyond human endurance.

“Amazing what you can learn from the internet.” That ridiculous statement earned him a glare. Yeah, probably best to keep the chatter to a minimum.

“Sam. Call 9-1-1,” she panted.

He was going to do that. It was next on his list. Really. He reached for the cell phone that he kept on the nightstand charger next to his bed. It wasn’t there. He stared frantically at the empty charger.

Wynter watched him closely, her eyes pleading with him.

“Sam, please!” She clutched at the sheets with a white-knuckled grip, her entire body going rigid. Crap.

“I’ll be right back. Don’t go anywhere.” Sam spun on his heel and raced for the stairs, taking them two at a time, falling on his butt and sliding down the last few. Not letting it stop his momentum, he ran to his office.

Special Spotlight on DESTINATION WEDDING by Robyn Neeley

Today happens to be my birthday.  I’m not mentioning that because I want praise or gifts, I was kind of hoping the calendar would skip over it – like a leap year day. In case you hadn’t noticed, I’ve had a post every day this week. It just happened that way. I have a hard time saying no to nice people, so when Robyn Neeley asked me to spread the word about her new contemporary romance, DESTINATION WEDDING,  and that it’s being featured in Amazon’s Summer Big Deal for only 99 cents thru August 2nd, I just couldn’t say no even though the only day left open was today, my birthday.  So, I’m sharing the news with you as my gift to all of you. I’m planning to read this one and I hope you will, too.

Blurb for DESTINATION WEDDING:

Wedding planner Kate Ashby’s fear of flying is eased by a sexy stranger and one slow lip lock that rockets her into another obit.

CEO Luke Cannon has just traded seats with his identical twin. Little did he know that an innocent kiss while pretending he was his brother would soon create havoc.

What happens in the air doesn’t stay up there. Once on tropical land, Kate believes that the handsome stranger who gave her the best kiss of her life is now her new client, Drew Cannon, fiancé to the beautiful and wealthy Lauren Kincaid. While Kate struggles with the intense feelings she thinks she has for Drew, Luke discovers Kate’s been hired to plan his brother’s destination wedding. He also realizes the initial sparks they shared 30,000 feet up are now mistakenly aimed at Drew.

Can Luke get Kate to realize that the feelings she has are for him? He’s got forty-eight hours in paradise to try.

Excerpt from DESTINATION WEDDING:

"I do. I do." Wedding planner Kate Ashby quietly repeated her calming mantra. Paralyzed in her window seat, she stared at the illuminated fasten seatbelt sign while her hands gripped the metal buckle strap.

Please turn off. Please turn off. They had to be close to cruising altitude. Soon, she'd be able to request a strong drink to knock her out for the duration of this bumpy flight.

She sat still, trying to ignore the terror pulsating through her. Why hadn't she bought sleeping pills before boarding a twelve-hour flight from New York City to Hawaii? Now, that would have been the smart thing to do.

Glancing out the tiny passenger window, she clutched her gold "K" necklace. It was completely irrational to be terrified and she realized the odds of her and her fellow passengers landing safely in Honolulu were more than in her favor. Still, this was her first time flying such a long duration. Departing Manhattan this evening in turbulent thunderstorms had shot her nerves. She was grateful that her boss had sprung for a first class ticket for the long flight.

A loud rattle caused her to grab hold to her armrests. "What was that?" She turned to the stranger sitting next to her. He had short blondish brown hair and was wearing a blue blazer. His face had a nice tan. She had failed to realize that her row mate was incredibly handsome. Usually the person sitting next to her was a grandparent or couldn't speak English. Perhaps he could help her ease her nerves?

"Um ... I think it's the drink cart. Would you like something?" He folded his Wall Street Journal.

Sexy and smart.

"I'll take a tequila and tonic," he said to the flight attendant.

And likes his drinks strong. This could be fun.
