THE COWBOY
AND THE ANGEL
by T.J. Kline
(Avon Impulse | On Sale:
8/5/2014| eBook ISBN 9780062370075| $1.99)
After knocking our
silver-spurred cowboy boots off with her RODEO QUEEN, T.J. Kline is back
with a sexy, contemporary Western romance about a sexy cowboy (is there any
other kind?) and an ambitious, not-so-angelic reporter who butt heads and make
sparks fly.
T.J. was discovered when
Avon Books sponsored a romance writing component during National Novel Writing
Month (NaNoWriMo) in 2012. Thousands of submissions came in, but through it
all, Kline’s flair for writing sexy contemporary romance shone through, and she
was acquired by Avon Impulse. Having spent a considerable amount of time as a
genuine rodeo queen herself, Kline brings a certain realism to her stories
about wild horses and wilder hearts on fire.
THE COWBOY AND THE ANGEL is
no different, featuring wildly attractive, rugged cowboys like Derek
Chandler—and an inquisitive reporter who is about learn more than she ever
thought there was to know about the fine American art of rodeo. This is a
classic enemies-to-lovers storyline, with a fantastic Western focus; THE
COWBOY AND THE ANGEL is a rancher-versus-reporter, head-versus-heart, and
winner-take-all kind of read that is impossible to resist.
Reporter Angela McCallister is ambitious; despite her
girl-next-door looks, she’s got big plans, and will do whatever it takes to
bring her career to the next level. After all, she’s not the only one depending
on a big break; her father needs her, too, to save her from his bad,
whiskey-soaked decisions. When Angela gets a call about a potentially
controversial story about rodeos and animal cruelty, Angela knows this is her
chance, and she’ll stop at nothing to get the scoop she needs…even if that
includes spending time behind the scenes on the Findley Brothers ranch, getting
up-close-and-personal with the devastatingly handsome and charming cowboy,
Derek Chandler.
Derek has a rodeo to run and a chip on his shoulder; since
he’s been forced to “cowboy up” and take a bigger role in running the family
rodeo business, he’s got no time for the fiery woman intent on destroying his
livelihood with a flashy—and untrue—news story about animal abuse. Derek knows
she’s hiding something behind that perfect body and smart mouth of hers, and he
intends to find out exactly what that is—although his investigation is
beginning to involve a lot more time kissing her smart mouth than trying to get
answers out of it. The connection between Derek and Anegla—or “Angel,” as Derek
calls her—is instant and explosive, but Angela’s secrets could threaten his
family. Derek is torn between seeing where his passion for the sassy reporter
leads, and proving that he’s no longer the irresponsible rogue of the Findley
family.
When the rodeo dust has settled, will the Cowboy and his
Angel allow themselves to give in to the attraction that threatens to consume
them both?
