Review Stop on the Tasty Virtual Book Tour for ALL OF ME by Jennifer Bernard + #excerpt & #giveaway

Welcome to my review stop on the Tasty Virtual Book Tour celebrating ALL OF ME, book one in the Love Between the Bases series by Jennifer Bernard. After thrilling us with the sexiest Bachelor Firemen ever from San Gabriel, Jennifer is now setting out to addict us to her sexy baseball players…she’s off to a great start.

***eARC provided by publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest and unscripted review

Blurb for ALL OF ME:

Jennifer Bernard, the USA Today bestselling author of the Bachelor Firemen series, scores another homerun with a brand-new series about sexy, single baseball players.

Playing for the Kilby Catfish is hotshot pitcher Caleb Hart’s last chance to salvage his career after a major league meltdown. But the day of his opener with the minor league team, Caleb strikes out with the gorgeous woman who is delivering a petition to run the unruly Catfish out of town. Now to stay in the lineup, Caleb will need to score big with the feisty brunette he can’t keep out of his thoughts.

After the nasty lies Sadie Merritt’s rich ex-boyfriend spread about her all over town, she’s lucky to have a job at all. She can’t afford to screw it up by falling for the player who is supposed to be helping her change the image of the fun-loving Catfish. But that’s easier said than done when Caleb’s voice alone is enough to make her pulse race. And when he surprises her with a mind-blowing kiss, she knows there’s no turning back.

~*~            ~*~          ~*~          ~*~         ~*~

My Review:
Sadie Merritt has survived a huge scandal involving her ex, barely. She has one friend left in town, and her job in the mayor’s office that she knows she’s way overqualified for but is just glad to have, and hopes to hang on to it. She has a mother constantly telling her she can do better and that men are nothing but trouble. To say her trust in men or anyone, much less herself is waning is an understatement. Running into a deliciously sexy playboy baseball player while running an errand for the mayor is not something she planned for or quite knows what to do with, and she certainly has no intention of falling into a man trap again. But he is very sexy...

Trying to salvage his career as a pitcher, Caleb Hart joins the minor league team, the Kilby Catfish. Having messed up his big chance in the major leagues, he’s determined to prove to everyone, but most importantly to himself, that he has what it takes to be the best. After a terrible first day, he literally runs into a sexy Sadie in the tunnels below when she comes to meet with the team's coach. A PR project throws them together, and Caleb has difficulty keeping his mind on the game on the field even as his strategy leans towards games with Sadie as he begins his pursuit of her. But can he win her...

After falling in love with Jennifer Bernard’s sexy Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel, I was ready to give her baseball series a try but also a little wary that she might not be able to give this series the same small town romantic feel that we always felt with the firefighters. There was a camaraderie between the men/women of the San Gabriel station that was an important part of the series. Well, Jennifer has definitely created the same feel in her Love Between the Bases series. It’s off to a good start with ALL OF ME.

We get that small town feel, steamy romance, and a cast of characters we can hope to see reappearing often in stories to come. The base emotion of ALL OF ME is trust. Caleb and Sadie both carry trust issues, and not just in others but in themselves. I enjoyed the chase that Sadie put Caleb through to win her over. I loved the way Jennifer dealt with the long distance aspect of their budding relationship also. It’s very appropriate in today’s world since so many relationships must endure distance but with technology, the world becomes a much smaller place. The phone conversations and resulting heat, which exploded with so much steam when they came together, was natural, and realistic. When secrets, mistrust, and misunderstandings along with Sadie’s ex and Caleb’s father start to interfere, things fall apart quickly but as it should, love prevails.

I highly recommend reading ALL OF ME, the first book in the Love Between the Bases series by Jennifer Bernard. It might not be her absolute best—there were times I wanted the trust to come faster—but then every team needs a warm up time, and I suspect as this team comes together as a family, this series is going to heat up and become the champs we know they can be.
Happy Reading Everyone!

Excerpt:

Caleb made her lose her head, plain and simple.
Sadie rested her forehead against his chest, amazed all over again by the firmness of his toughened muscles. The heat of his body contrasted with the cool water in the most heavenly way. “Maybe I didn’t think this all the way through.”
“Are you telling me a dumb baseball player got the better of a brilliant future law student? Nah.” He bent his head so he could nuzzle her hair. “You smell nice. Like water lilies.”
She smelled hot man, mixed with lake water and sun-baked mesquite. Somehow they’d drifted away from the gravelly edge, so the stench of mud wasn’t as prominent. She felt so dreamy and secure, held tight in Caleb’s arms as they floated aimlessly in the lake. He grinned down at her, the light reflected off the lake water turning his eyes a soft, clear blue. Sun glinted in his hair, spangled with crystal drops of water. He really was a remarkably beautiful man. Everything seemed to still while she soaked in the details of his powerful physique, his rawboned handsomeness, the flash of vulnerability in his eyes.
She could really lose herself in him. Completely and utterly. Never before had she felt anything close to that.
“Dream on,” she told him, and flipped out of his arms. She dove under the surface, letting the slide of water through her hair and across her body wash away the effects of that alarming moment.
She’d always loved to swim, and it took only a few moments to put distance between herself and Caleb. But he wasn’t a professional athlete for nothing, and within moments he was splashing in her wake.
Shrieking with breathless laughter, she flung herself backward, as if onto a watery couch. He grabbed an ankle, and she flipped to her stomach, kicking hard. But it was no use; she felt herself being inexorably pulled toward him, his wonderfully big hands reeling her in.
And then there she was, snuggled against his chest again. It rose and fell with his rapid breaths. “There, that’s better,” he said with satisfaction, the words rumbling against her ear. “I kinda like this whole fishing thing.”
“No fair, I got distracted,” she protested, turning her body in the circle of his arms so she could see his face. Water streamed from his hair, down his neck to his wide shoulders. His eyelashes clung together, so his eyes looked bluer than ever. “I’d forgotten how much I love swimming in this lake.”
“It’s starting to grow on me too. Or at least something is.”
She giggled, and then, as a grin split his face, started laughing. As he watched her something shifted in his expression. His goofy smile vanished, replaced by an intent, hungry look. His head lowered, eyes glittering. The rest of the world receded, so only his face remained, coming closer and closer to hers, his mouth reaching for her …
Oh wow. He was going to kiss her.
And then he was kissing her. His lips burned against hers, sending pure shock throughout her body. Kisses didn’t feel like that. They didn’t turn your lips to fire, they didn’t liquefy your lungs so you could barely breathe. They didn’t make you dizzy.
She pulled away with a gasp, still in his embrace, their faces close enough so she felt his quickened breathing. Caleb looked just as stunned as she felt, his eyes gone dark and gray as a hurricane. For a long moment the two of them just stared at each other, poised on the edge of the unknown. Water lapped against her hips, and a breath of air kissed her shoulder. Everywhere her body touched Caleb’s, heat seared.
And then they were on each other again. He seemed to consume her, exploring her mouth with long sweeps of his tongue that left sparkling trails of heat in their wake. He tasted so wonderful, like summer days, like fireflies and bicycling down dusty back roads, like every time she’d laid on her back in a meadow and dreamed about the future.
Little whimpers rose from her throat. She pulled her mouth from his, her cheek brushing across his stubbly chin, its roughness sending more shocks through her. His grip loosened and she slid down his body until she stood on the lake bottom, pressed against him from head to toe. The huge bulge in his briefs made her feel a little faint.
“Sweet Jesus,” he whispered as she nibbled on his jaw. She couldn’t help it; she wanted to eat him up. “You’re making me crazy. We can’t do this here.”
“Shh.” She didn’t want to talk. She wanted this all-consuming, crazy conflagration that she’d never even imagined before. Tugging at his shoulders, she rose on tiptoe, brushing her lips against his again. With a heartfelt groan, he gave in. – ALL OF ME

Review Stop on the Tasty Virtual Book Tour for THE NIGHT BELONGS TO FIREMAN by Jennifer Bernard + #Giveaway

Welcome to my review stop on the Tasty Virtual Book Tour for THE NIGHT BELONGS TO FIREMAN by Jennifer Bernard. If you haven’t experienced the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel, what are you waiting for? These are exceptional firemen who provide the most fun in romance, from their heroic deeds to their sexy hot personalities. I hope you will stick around for a tour wide giveaway after my review.

***eARC provided by publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest and unscripted review.

Blurb for THE NIGHT BELONGS TO FIREMAN:

Daring . . . Sexy . . . Irresistible . . .
They're the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel

When fireman Fred Breen rescues a bachelorette party after a construction crane collapses onto their limo, the media labels him the "Bachelor Hero." But all Fred can think about is the petite brunette with the sexy mane of dark curls who bolted away from him faster than a wildfire after he carried her to safety. And when he discovers she's none other than Rachel Kessler, the daughter of a tech billionaire, the girl whose kidnapping riveted the nation, he intends to learn every intimate detail about this intriguing woman who sets his pulse on fire.

Rachel can't deny the lean-muscled firefighter is smokin' hot. But after having one too many drinks at the bar where she first meets him, Rachel knows she's made a fool of herself. Yet when he rescues her from the limo, she feels safe for the first time since she was held for ransom as a child. Then her overprotective father insists Fred be her bodyguard—and his close presence kindles a burning desire that only he can extinguish.

*                     *                      *                     *                      *

Fred Breen, aka Stud by his fellow firefighters, knows he’s got what it takes to be the best at his job but after coming in second in the Southern California Muay Thai Championships, he’s once more reminded nice guys never win. He’s tired of being Mr. Nice Guy but doesn’t know how to be anything but who he is. He’s allowed his ex-girlfriend to walk all over him for far too long, and even though he’s told her it’s over more than a few times, she doesn’t seem to get the message. Now, as he sits in the City Lights Grill with his buddy, Mulligan nursing his second place win, he’s being reminded yet again by an intoxicated petite brunette wearing a wedding veil that he’s a pushover.

Rachel Kessler is tired of not living her life. Cutting loose with her best friends while celebrating the upcoming nuptials of one, she pushes the limits all the while knowing it’s the champagne talking more so than her inner child wanting to finally break free of the cage she was once held in by a kidnapper. Teasing the good-looking guy with the cheap trophy for second place is easy but when he tries to tell her how to behave, she rebels. She’s tired of everyone telling her how to live her life or rather not live it, and stay safe. When she finds herself trapped inside the limo with her friends after a crane falls on it, it’s the sexy firefighter she teased, and smacked in the nose, who is the one to come to her rescue. Even as she feels everything closing in on her, he keeps her grounded but when she’s faced with the inside of an ambulance, her claustrophobia gets the better of her and she fights to break loose, and runs - just as she did when she was a child.

When her wealthy and over-protective father hires Fred the Fireman to be her 24/7 bodyguard, she balks at the idea and then decides spending so much one on one time with the sexy, handsome, and nice guy, Fred, isn’t such a bad thing after all. She just doesn’t expect her feelings, and her fears, to become so entangled with her heart when she falls for the sexy Bachelor Hero of San Gabriel.

THE NIGHT BELONGS TO FIREMAN, book six of the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel series by Jennifer Bernard is a delightful addition to the series even if it isn’t my absolute favorite. Fred is sexy, protective, and yes, a nice guy although he seems to have some anger management issues at times. It also took me a while to cotton up to him since he seemed overly quick to judge Rachel, but I soon realized it was part of his nature and he was just as quick to apologize – a man who can admit being wrong and genuinely apologize is very sexy in my book. Rachel is broken, still traumatized by events in her childhood yet she wants more, and that makes her strong. She grows stronger and increasingly sure of herself with every moment she spends with Fred until she knows she’s ready to stand on her own. I like Rachel very much and respect her affection for those around her, including her over-protective and controlling father. Marsden is a favorite.

Overall, THE NIGHT BELONGS TO FIREMAN may not be my favorite in the series, but it’s definitely a fun read, filled with emotion, angst, a mystery, and of course, lots of firefighter hijinks, and action. Jennifer always does an excellent portrayal of firefighters at their best, and this one is no exception.

I highly recommend THE NIGHT BELONGS TO FIREMAN by Jennifer Bernard whether you’ve read the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel series or not. If you haven’t, you should and preferably start from the beginning and enjoy all of the deliciously heroic members of the team, but if you’d like to dip your toe into this wonderful series, by all means, start with THE NIGHT BELONGS TO FIREMAN.

Happy Reading Everyone!

Unwrapping: Review of DESPERATELY SEEKING FIREMAN, a Bachelor Firemen novella by Jennifer Bernard

Hot firemen are Jennifer Bernard’s specialty and she’s hit the mark again with DESPERATELY SEEKING FIREMAN, a Bachelor Firemen novella releasing on December 31, 2013.

***eARC provided by publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest and unscripted review.

Blurb for DESPERATELY SEEKING FIREMAN:

Fire Captain Jeb Stone and incredibly successful press secretary Nita Moreno have both been burned by love before. That's why neither of them is looking for more than a few steamy nights of passion.

When circumstances find them stranded on an island together, babysitting a cross-dressing senator and the very pregnant wife of San Gabriel's most famous captain, they allow the sparks they feel to take center stage. But as their feelings grow, can they each allow the other past the barriers both have built to protect their hearts?

*            *            *            *            *

Nita Moreno believes her life is exactly as she wants it when she meets eyes with an incredibly handsome firefighter at the wedding of Melissa McQuire and Capt. Harry Brody. Three years later though, her life has fallen apart. Filled with heartache, and with a pain in the neck Senator to babysit, she’s confronted with a very pregnant Melissa Brody and tagging along with her is that gorgeous fireman who she discovers is now divorced.

Captain Jeb Stone hasn’t forgotten the beautiful bridesmaid who made it quite clear she wasn’t interested. Life takes a pleasant turn when he runs into her on Santa Lucia while doing a favor for his buddy, Capt. Brody. Now his hopes of winning her over begin to take shape.

Just when I think that Jennifer Bernard cannot possibly surpass her last fireman hero – Psycho, or any who came before – she does and oh, how she does it in Jeb Stone. I want this man under my tree for Christmas.

One of the things I love most about reading Jennifer Bernard’s Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel series is how real her characters are and how dreamily romantic they fall in love. Jeb Stone has lived a loveless life the past five years. He stayed married to his teenage love for the sake of his daughter but now feels he’ll never find what he needs to heal his heart and allow him to face a brighter future with someone at his side. That is, until he is reunited with Nita Moreno. The attraction was instant at the wedding but it’s fortified two-fold when they meet again on Santa Lucia. HOT Healing Sex seems to be a simple solution to scratch an itch plaguing both Nita and Jeb but neither is sure how to handle what happens next. Their attraction doesn’t cool but explodes as if gasoline’s been thrown on a fire.

Jennifer consistently conjures characters that touch our hearts with pain and heartache from the past, worries about the future, and fear of rejection as they succumb to intense attractions yet we continue to fall hard for them every time. Nita and Jeb are no different. They carry pain from the past, apprehension in going after what they want, and fear of giving in to what they need. The characters in DESPERATELY SEEKING FIREMAN are the story. We’re treated to the delightful Melissa McQuire Brody as she attempts to pursue a story while on the verge of giving birth at any moment. We experience the frantic over possessiveness of, the madly in love with his woman, Capt. Harry Brody who wants to wrap her up in a bubble if only he could catch her. Secondary characters delight us, making us smile and delight in their presence. And of course, we meet and fall in love with the sexy Jeb Stone and beautiful Nita Moreno who despite their fears and their priorities, soon fall prey to the most natural and amazing emotion of all - LOVE.

I highly recommend DESPERATELY SEEKING FIREMAN by Jennifer Bernard to anyone who has read any of the other Bachelor Firemen novels but especially if you read the first, THE FIREMAN WHO LOVED ME, as this gives you more of Melissa and the sexy Captain Brody. But if by chance, you haven't had a taste of Jennifer's HOT FIREMEN yet, then definitely pick up DESPERATELY SEEKING FIREMAN because you'll quickly be hooked and in love with Jeb Stone! I recommend the entire series to everyone who loves sexy heroes, delightful heroines, fun making secondary characters and stories that stay with you long after the last page is turned. Jennifer does HOT FIREMEN like no other.

Happy Reading Everyone!

Unwrapping: Review of HOW TO TAME A WILD FIREMAN by Jennifer Bernard

Firemen! Jennifer Bernard writes the sexiest firemen on the planet and she’s done it again with HOW TO TAME A WILD FIREMAN. If you’ve been following the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel series then you know Patrick Callahan, aka Psycho. This one is a must read because once you start reading, it’s a wild ride that you’re not going to want to get off of – ever!

***eARC provided by publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest and unscripted review.

Blurb for HOW TO TAME A WILD FIREMAN:

The Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel have a rebel among them, and there's only one woman who can put his flames out.

Firefighter Patrick "Psycho" Callahan earns his nickname every day. Fast, fit, and a furious worker, he thrives on the danger which helps him forget a near-tragedy that changed his life forever. But when his off-duty carousing gets out of hand, Patrick is sent back to Loveless, Nevada, where the wildfire threatening his hometown has nothing on sizzling Dr. Lara Nelson.

Lara would rather be thought of as the physician who returned to Loveless than as the misfit brought up at a hippie New Age commune. But right now she's focused on her job at hand, patching up injured firemen...until the past hits her in the hard-muscled, blue-eyed form of Patrick Callahan. Now, the embers of their decade-old attraction have ignited into a full-on inferno, as the bad-boy firefighter and the good doctor take a walk on the wild side they'll never forget.

*             *             *             *             *

Patrick Callahan, aka Psycho has always lived on the edge. With more energy and wild ambition than any one man can handle, he doesn’t rest even when he’s supposed to be and there’s a deep-seated reason for that. Guilt. He bears the guilt of a night long ago that cost him everything he held dear. Now, after letting his pent up energy get the better of him, Captain Brody is volunteering him to go to Nevada to fight a wildfire. The last place Psycho wants to go, or rather feels he’s welcome to go, is Nevada. More specifically, Loveless, Nevada - his hometown. His family, specifically his father, doesn’t want him there. After that fateful night, Big Dog Callahan turned his eldest son out and told him to never return.

Lara Nelson escaped Loveless, Texas for a dream of being a doctor, of putting her past behind her, and making a new life for herself that didn’t include the misfit outcast that she was growing up. Upon learning of her Aunt Tam’s death and the wonderful loving woman’s last request, Lara had no choice but to return to her hometown and face what she’s left behind. The very last thing she expects is to be caught up in the tragedy of a wildfire that endangers her home, the people she loves, and to come face to face with the only man that ever lit her libido on fire.

Together, Patrick and Lara, pool their skills as firefighter and doctor to fight the fire, save lives, face familial problems, and their mutual desire for each other.

Jennifer Bernard has done it big time with HOW TO TAME A WILD FIREMAN. Reading this one is like riding a roller coaster of emotion, action, sexual fire, and heartache such that made me want the ride to continue and never stop. I’ve always liked Psycho but in this story, we see a sensitive side of Patrick that had me falling in love with him almost immediately, or well, at least as soon as he carried an adorable llama out of the fire. I love a man who isn’t afraid to admit he can’t do everything, can’t fix everything, and can admit when he’s made a mistake. Jennifer wrote the most amazing hero character ever and I’m in love with him.

Lara is tough as nails but has the biggest heart a gal can have. Even when angry, hurt, or scared, she can find it in herself to look out for others. Always feeling like an outsider, she revels in being part of something greater and that makes her someone I could easily have as a best friend. When her protective instincts kick in there’s no telling who she’ll stand up to and when she does, you want to cheer for her.

HOW TO TAME A WILD FIREMAN by Jennifer Bernard is extraordinary and enthralling. It takes us on a journey from San Gabriel to Nevada and back. It makes us worry our book or reader as to how she’s going to get Patrick and Lara together. Then they’re off to Mexico and a landslide of emotion than will have you falling in love with Patrick even harder, if you aren’t already. When the fire threatens their loved ones back in Nevada, they rush back to Loveless where danger lights an even greater fire that tears open truths, pulls families together, and begins to tame even the toughest Burl Ives-type character in Big Dog Callahan.

I highly recommend HOW TO TAME A WILD FIREMAN by Jennifer Bernard to anyone who wants to be swept away by a romance filled with action, danger, self-revelations, love of family, reconciliations, and falling in love so hard you’ll never want it to end. In other words, this is a mega-must read for all romance lovers.

Happy Reading Everyone!

Wacky Wednesday: A Visit with Jennifer Bernard, author of the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel series!

On Monday, I reviewed the newest addition to the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel series, SEX AND THE SINGLE FIREMAN by Jennifer Bernard and couldn't have loved a story more. If you haven't read my review of this fabulous contemporary romance starring the sexiest fireman yet, please do by clicking on the title but hurry back because Jennifer is going to be joining me any second!

Jennifer Bernard is the author of some of the sexiest firemen to grace the pages of romance novels but that's not all she is - this amazing author who made her debut last year with Avon Romance has lived the life of a romance heroine if ever there was one. After attending Harvard, she worked in publishing, lived on a fishing island in Maine, moved to L.A. where she worked in promotion before picking up her whole life to move to Alaska. Jennifer Bernard can give most heroines a run for their money.

I hope you'll all help me welcome Jennifer to Unwrapping Romance ...

Amy:  Hi Jennifer, thank you so much for taking time from your busy schedule to join us today, it's such a delight to have you here.

Jennifer: Thank you for having me! I’m excited to be here.

Amy: Well, I'm excited to have you here. Perhaps you'd like to tell us a little bit about yourself for those who don't know you yet.

Jennifer:  I live in the cold, ice land of Alaska, where I keep warm by writing books about hot firemen. J  I write the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel series for Avon Books. I’m married, with two stepdaughters. I started writing romance after I completely upended my life, quit my job in Los Angeles, sold my house, and started new in Alaska. I had no idea I would meet my future husband two months after I moved up there and get stuck! But fate works in mysterious ways.

Amy:  She also just spent the last weeks, including the holidays & the frigid month of January in Hawaii but don't worry, she's sharing the warmth with us through SEX AND THE SINGLE FIREMAN.
Jennifer, you've already led a vastly more interesting life than most of us can imagine. What first inspired you to write and why romance?

Jennifer:  I’m one of those “always been writing” types. From a very early age, reading was my greatest comfort, escape and entertainment. Of course I wanted to try my hand at creating that magic carpet ride. As an adult, I made my living writing everything from news promos to encyclopedia entries before deciding to try the genre that I’d loved from about age 14 – romance. The romance genre, in my eyes, is about hope and joy and optimism and fun and sexiness, and I adore it.

Amy:  Your appreciation of the romance genre and its true attributes show clearly in your wonderful romances. and your great love for firemen. What is it about firemen that inspire you so much?

Jennifer:  I think of firemen as “everyday heroes.” They put their lives at risk for others, but they’re also the guys down the street, the ones at the coffee shop, showing kids around the fire engine, or shopping at the supermarket. They’re brave and daring, but also rooted in their communities – I find that combination fascinating.

Amy:  Well, your Bachelor Firemen definitely reflect that affection and appreciation for all firemen.
Jennifer, you were a debut author in 2012. Do you have any favorite authors that you enjoy best and have they influenced your writing?

Jennifer:  Oh my gosh, that is such a long list! My formative romance reading years were devoted to Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Georgette Heyer, Victoria Holt, Judith Krantz, Nora Roberts. In more recent years I’ve come to love Kristan Higgins, Eloisa James, Lisa Kleypas, Rachel Gibson, Loretta Chase, Mary Balogh – the list goes on and on. I’m sure all my favorites have affected my writing, but I’ve also been highly influenced by my experience in screenwriting. When I lived in LA, I wrote several screenplays before ever attempting a novel, and much of what I learned carried over into romance.

Amy:  With a reading list like that tucked away in your subconscious, it's no wonder your romances, and your heroes, are so dynamic. Your Bachelor Fireman series has been so much fun to read. Every time I think you've created the most delicious man, you create another. Roman, the hero of SEX AND THE SINGLE FIREMAN, is now my dream man. Where does your inspiration for such swoon-worthy men come from? Do you really know men like this?  *wink*

Jennifer:  Oh, Roman! I’m so glad you like him! I have to say, I just love that man. I don’t know where he came from – maybe he is real, and some lucky woman somewhere is having a very happy life with him. I fall in love with every single one of my heroes. I think my inspiration is men, in general. They have their flaws, but they’re also protective and devoted and passionate and the best of them have a fundamental sweetness that I like to celebrate in my books.

Amy:  If there's a real Roman out there, I wish I'd met him 25 years ago. LOL!! My half-Italian hubby comes close but a girl can dream. *wink* Do you have a favorite Bachelor Fireman or is each one your favorite until the next is conjured?

Jennifer:  I fall for every single one. When I started writing the most recent Bachelor, it was hard because I was still under Roman’s spell. I felt as if I was cheating! But sure enough, the new guy turned out to be just as entrancing as his predecessors.

Amy:  I think I'll be under Roman's spell for a very long time, but since I've said that about each of your heroes, I suppose I'll fall just as hard for next one to confront the curse. I hear the next bachelor up will be Psycho. How many books do you see in the future for the San Gabriel Bachelor Firemen and us, your lucky readers?

Jennifer:  Yes, Psycho’s next! He actually has a name, Patrick Callahan, and he’s a wild one with a story that’ll tug at your heart once it all comes out. He’s the hero of the 4th book, and two more have been contracted by Avon. So there will be at least six books, with a couple of novellas thrown in as well. Many smoking hot firemen to come! Just the way I like it.     :- )

Amy:  Love his name and can't wait to read his story. I've always gotten a kick out of his contributions - he's a bit of a smart mouth and I like that about him. More to come, huh? *fanning my face* Did it just get warmer in here?
Jennifer, as a contemporary romance writer, have you ever considered allowing your writing talents to take you off into another time or world?

Jennifer: My first finished (but unpublished) novel was actually paranormal. And I have this great idea for a pirate romance set in the early 1700’s – I have it all plotted out. I’d love to find time to actually write that book someday. Nothing’s out of the question, but I’m having so much fun with my contemporaries that I’ll probably stick with them for now. I love the idea of staking a claim for romance in the here and now. We live in such a complicated, often cynical time, that I believe we need romance more than ever.

Amy:  Well, I'm sure many will agree with me when I say we're happy you're sticking with your firemen for a while but I do hope you return to that paranormal some day and I'm all for a pirate romance in the early 1700's - I love pirates!!
Well, my last question and the one I love asking most - IF you could be ANY character in ANY book, who would it be and why?

Jennifer:  Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice. Because she’s full of flaws, but Darcy loves her all the same. She has a happy nature, which is such a blessing in life.

Amy: Elizabeth Bennet is certainly a character standard worth striving for. It seems Miss Bennet is someone that a lot of romance authors admire and wish to emulate. I wonder what Jane Austen would think of that?
Jennifer, as a huge fan of your hunky Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel - Station 1, let me say thank you for giving us such wonderful stories and sexy heroes. Thank you for joining us today and I'm sure my readers join me in wishing you even more success with this fabulous and fun-filled series.
