I highly recommend CONFESSIONS OF A SEX DEMON by Jaye Shields if you are even the slightest bit a fan of paranormal romance. This isn't just your normal vamp/werewolf/witch paranormal either - this is much more and will have you hooked from the first steamy scene which, by the way, is exactly where the story begins.

CLAIMING OF A SEX DEMON by Jaye Shields is actually the prelude to CONFESSIONS OF A SEX DEMON. You will get more in the way of backstory when you read CLAIMING OF A SEX DEMON. This sort of prequel is slightly less paranormal and erotic than CONFESSIONS, but its erotic romance that takes romance to a new height. Yes, a sex demon comes to town and destroys a relationship, but somehow it seems right. Emmerie needs passion in her life, even though she cares deeply for Lennox, and Reza is definitely the man to give it to her - and boy, does he! Reza is the sexiest sex demon you will ever meet even as Emmerie is a meek little thing who doesn’t care much for sex - until she meets Reza. At first, she seems undeserving of such an impassioned man but soon her sexual side begins to awaken, and it’s obvious that she and Reza are truly meant for each other.

I highly recommend this one to anyone who wants some thrill with their romance, some naughty rather than nice, and a little bit of that somethin' somethin' that you're looking for in a steamy quick read.

Not only does she continue to create a world that is both unusual yet recognizable, she gives us a deeper insight into the world of the Quetzelam as well as their unusual needs, and fears. Axel is sexy, hot stuff, and in more ways than one, yet intriguing and very easy to fall in love with, just as Sephina does.

What he discovers instead is a woman who puts everyone else's needs first, including his, and only wants to do a good job. His attraction to her is intense, so intense that he finally presents a solution to their mutual attraction - a fling. Little does he know, until the subject of sex arises in the form of her concern over a love scene in the script, this beautiful sexy woman is a virgin. Jake is presented with a quandary - does he back away because she is a virgin or does he go forth and solve their mutual problem? Neither wants a relationship, neither wants complications, but both are so attracted to each other that being in the same room sends off sparks. What ever will they do? *wink*

 

ISLE OF SENSUALITY by Aimée Duffy is most definitely a once you start reading, you can't put it down story! The characters are exceptional, their reasons for privacy, reluctance toward romantic entanglements, and their loyalty toward family and friends, endearing. Aimée tells us that this was her first manuscript and was written long before MONSTER OF FAME but needed refining which she was able to do through the guidance of friends.  Well, it worked and it shows! ISLE OF SENSUALITY does have the feel of her Scottish roots with slang and colloquialisms that definitely identify it as an early work but aside from that, she excels in her writing as if she is a seasoned author - which she is now.

I think what I enjoyed most about Jake and Caitlyn was their respect for each other's needs outside the work place including their responsibilities to family. Caitlyn helps Jake see that his responsibilities to his brothers isn't really an all or nothing chore, whereas, Jake gives Caitlyn a sense of security, that he has her back, when she's never been able to open herself up to that feeling because she's only ever counted on herself. Their relationship is more open than you'd expect and as a result, draws the reader in more intensely.

I highly recommend ISLE OF SENSUALITY by Aimée Duffy to anyone who loves a good read with wonderful characters, the delight of watching two people fall in love, sexually charged romance as a background that is rivaled only by the setting - the tropics and Rio de Janiero - and loves contemporary romance with depth and attitude.

When I read MONSTER OF FAME, book one in the Price of Fame series by Aimée Duffy back in October 2012, she surprised the beejeebers out of me by actually getting me to enjoy a contemporary romance about, of all things, a reality TV show. So, when she came to me asked if I’d like to read a copy of her second book in the Price of Fame series, NEVER SAY NEVER, no strings attached, I didn’t hesitate to say yes - much to her surprise. She was worried that I wouldn’t want to because it had a reality TV star as the hero. Oh, poo!

NEVER SAY NEVER, book 2 in the Price of Fame series, by Aimée Duffy is a contemporary romance that plays out similarly to nearly everyone’s favorite movie, PRETTY WOMAN. Just as in the movie, our hero simply needs a companion who can play the part of his date, his girlfriend, even his lover. Chloe is NOT a prostitute, but in order for Sander to secure Chloe continuing in her role, he arranges for her to get an interview for her dream job, he pays for new clothes (actually takes her shopping), and arranges a caretaker for her mother so that she’s free to attend to his needs – as a companion, of course. Everyone benefits, no one is hurt, Chloe gets what she needs, and Sander doesn’t lose face. What neither expects is that with one kiss, everything changes and they both find themselves fighting the electric connection sparking between them – a battle they both fight hard not to lose.

Aimée creates an atmosphere of a developing friendship, kindred spirits, and a couple with whom you'll fall in love. I love that she sprinkles her prose with bits of British slang that, although it means looking things up occasionally, lends a London air to the environment of the story that draws you in even deeper. Her characters are full-bodied and charismatic which is quite amazing considering the modest length of the book.

 

I highly recommend NEVER SAY NEVER by Aimée Duffy to anyone who loves a fairy tale romance that’s simple yet complicated, subtle yet explosive, and that will have you urging the hero and heroine to stop fighting what is inevitable and just go for it – to NEVER SAY NEVER - and pursue their happily-ever-after.

Jaye Shields holds a degree in Anthropology from San Francisco State University with an emphasis in archaeology. Her previous claims to fame include being a bass player for a grunge band called the Hymens, being mistaken for Britney Spears while in Tokyo, and commercial model. She insists the commercial still counts even though her lines were cut.

Born and raised in Seattle, she now lives in the realm of fog, skyscrapers, and redwood trees. Happy to call San Francisco home, she spends her time writing sensual paranormal romance and urban fantasy. Thanks to her grandmother, she's been reading romance novels since she was ten years old. Jaye sprinkles her love of history, mythology, and the occult into flaming hot reads.
