Unwrapping a Review of GET LUCKY, an anthology of 6 wonderful Irish Themed Romances

I wish to thank the lovely authors of the GET LUCKY Anthology for allowing me to read an ARC of this delight group of stories in exchange for honest and unscripted reviews. Happy Release Day!

What happens when six romance authors get together and write half a dozen brand-new, steamy, Irish-themed novellas? Everyone gets lucky! This 99-cent box set crosses genres and includes contemporary romance, new adult romance and paranormal romance novellas that will give Get Lucky a whole new meaning.

The GET LUCKY Anthology features:

WALKING THE LINE by Nicola Marsh

Finn Ahearn’s Irish luck is about to run out…
Reformed Aussie bad girl Ellie is a decade older than Finn but that doesn’t stop the charming Irishman from wooing her. Ellie doesn’t believe in the happily-ever-after dream any longer, not since hers imploded a long time ago. But can a smooth-talking Irishman sway a hard-hearted cynic to believe in love again?

My Review:
This story is set in Australia, but Finn is from Ireland and fresh off the boat. He doesn’t have the luck of the Irish it seems. After convincing Ellie to hire him, he begins to desire her but she’s not having any of it. Older and not a believer in true love, she proves to be a tough nut to crack. Will Finn be able to charm his way through her tough shell?
Perhaps not my favorite, but Finn is definitely charming and Ellie is easy to relate to, and like very much.

AMAZED BY YOU by Kelsey Browning

Falling again for your first love...this time for keeps.
Author’s assistant Olivia McLaughlin must pull off an extravagant St. Patrick’s Day garden party to win a coveted promotion, but her success hinges on landscape designer Cody Kavanaugh, her old high school boyfriend. Now, Olivia must decide which she can’t live without—the job that will make her a success or the man offering her a second chance at love.

My Review:
A St. Patrick’s Day story. Olivia is determined to prove her worth as the best assistant ever to her author boss by throwing a fabulous St. Paddy’s Day garden party. She hires an old boyfriend, Cody, to design and create the special landscaping to pull off the best party ever and win her a promotion. What if a second chance at love is an option, can she still be successful at her job?
This one was fun, and I have to say that Cody can come work my garden whenever he wants to…shirt off preferably.

ONE LITTLE KISS by Robin Covington

The best things start with one little kiss.
Trapped by a snowstorm in the same place at the same time, Leighton and Jonas must decide if their hot night together was the end of their story or if they started forever with just one little kiss…

My Review:
Another St. Paddy’s Day story. Stuck at the airport during a snowstorm on the way to the Celtic Music Festival, Jonas does a friend a favor and attempts to rescue his buddy's sister. The same sister he’s very attracted to and has a past with, Leighton. Still very attracted to each other and both having reasons why things won’t work between them, they end up spending the night together. Can they get past those reasons and admit their feelings for each other?
I thoroughly enjoyed this couple. I wished it could be longer. I think there’s more story here.

BIG, BAD RED by Avery Flynn

She always gets her wolf...
There’s nothing little or naive about this Red Riding Hood. Red runs the biggest fencing operation for fairytale treasures out of the back of Granny’s Pub. But when she comes into possession of the Caladbolg sword things get hairy–as in hot, sexy Liam MacTíre the werewolf hairy.

My Review:
This one is set in an Irish Pub in New York and is a very different take on the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale. Liam MacTíre is a werewolf. Red is a bar owner who runs a fencing operation on the side. She fences things like magic carpets, glass slippers, and special swords. Liam needs to find a very special sword or he will be a wolf forever. Can love be a greater spell breaker?
I loved this one. Liam is devilishly wolfish, and Red, although tough as nails, she’s a perfect feminine match for Liam. I’d love to see this one in a full-length story.

LUCK OF THE IRISH by Sara Humphreys

A leprechaun is powerless without his gold….
Banished to the mirrored realm for hundreds of years, Declan Aherne had nothing but time to plot his revenge and mourn the loss of his beloved wife. But when a beautiful human woman, with a familiar amulet, stares into the mirror...Declan's luck was about to change.

My Review:
Declan is a leprechaun fae who is banished into a magic mirror because he fell in love with a witch and married her. A century later, Maggie finds the mirror and remembers a story her aunt told her about a man cursed into a mirror. With her help, Declan is freed from the mirrored realm and despite his desire for revenge, his luck takes a magical turn for the better.
This one is so good but be forewarned, it ends as all cliffhangers should…“Your adventure has begun.” I’m definitely going to have to read what comes next for Maggie and Declan.

SOMETHING BORROWED by Kimberly Kincaid

Her best friend is the best man for the job…
When her successful brother announces his plans for an impromptu wedding in Ireland, unlucky-in-love chef Sasha Arrington is stuck between the Blarney Stone and a hard place. Sasha needs a wingman for her brother’s wedding, and the romantic destination could be just what James Sullivan needs to tempt Sasha out of the friend zone.

My Review:
This one is set in Ireland, and Sasha needs a date to her brother’s wedding. Her coworker volunteers to be her date, but he hopes to use their time together to get out of the friend zone. Sasha has issues regarding love and marriage because of her parents so James has his work cut out for him. Can he convince her to take a chance on him, and on love?
A destination wedding, parents from hell, a sexy guy who can cook too, and a gal who would rather have her hair burned off than fall in love means another great story from Kimberly. Sully, that’s James Sullivan, is Kincaid hot perfection and Sasha is stubborn, but he’s definitely charming enough to make even the toughest case melt like smooth chocolate. Loved this one.

Happy Reading Everyone! Go get your copy of the GET LUCKY anthology!
