Wacky Wednesday: Review Stop on the Tasty Book Blog Tour for TRUSTING AGAIN by Peggy Bird + #Giveaway

Welcome to my stop on the TRUSTING AGAIN by Peggy Bird Tasty Book Review Tour. Have you tried out any of the Second Chances series by Peggy Bird yet? Well, if you haven’t yet, then I suggest you start with her newest, TRUSTING AGAIN, it features the most gorgeous, the most sensuous, and the most romantic hero yet from Peggy. That’s saying a lot from me since I fell head over heels in love with her last one, Tony Alessandro of TOGETHER AGAIN, and I thought none could surpass him. Well, upon meeting Marius Hernandez, I knew I was wrong.

***eARC provided by author in exchange for an honest and unscripted review.

Blurb for TRUSTING AGAIN:

After years of struggling, Cynthia Blaine is finally getting recognition from Seattle galleries and buyers for her designer jewelry. Her life seems to be on an even keel. Her professional life, that is. Her personal life is less exciting than a cloistered nun’s. After a messy breakup with a man who decided he needed a woman who could help his career more than a mere artist could, she’s steered clear of anyone who could hurt her like that again.

Then Marius Hernandez comes into a gallery where she was working. He’s a successful coffee broker; he’s to-die-for handsome; he’s sexy and charming. And he’s very, very interested in her.

Marius woos her on a sailing trip through the beautiful San Juan Islands during which their romance lights up the summer nights. Soon after they return to Seattle, he leaves on a six-week business trip to Central America, vowing he’ll return to her.  But just before he’s due back, Cynthia gets a shock. And when she goes to Portland to pour out her heart to her best friend, she has another shock. Marius is in Portland, not where he said he would be. And he’s with another woman.

It’ll take more than a good cup of coffee to get Cynthia and Marius to their happily-ever-after.

Cynthia Blaine has done her time on the arm of a wealthy bachelor before. She still carries the sense of not being worthy from that disastrous relationship. So when the tall, dark, to-die-for handsome, and very wealthy Marius Hernandez first enters her life, she is swept away by his good looks and his charm but warns herself off him because he lives in a different world and is obviously taken. When she meets him again in the company of her friends, she makes a fool of herself because she’d been so caught up in her thoughts about him since he first entered her studio that now she was at a loss for words and too tense to breathe. Thinking she’d never see him again, she’s surprised when she does and, even more so that he is there in the hopes of seeing her. He wanted an explanation of why she hadn’t called him. Marius woos her into joining him on a sailing trip along the coast. She hesitates, but only for a moment. With a charm that could melt the most iron panties, he uses it, his lips, his body, and his unwillingness to take no for an answer to convince her. She goes and has the time of her life. A time, she dreads ending because she’s still sure that she has no place in this continental, gorgeous man about town’s world. Just when she thinks there’s actually a chance that this incredible man who can have any woman he wants, actually wants her, her world is shattered. Cynthia finds it impossible to believe that she is truly the woman that he wants. Now it’s Marius who must convince everyone, including Cynthia, that he is worthy of her.

TRUSTING AGAIN, book four in the Second Chances series by Peggy Bird is sensual, addicting, and mesmerizing with wonderful descriptions of the islands that Marius and Cynthia tour, enticing with romantic scenes that feature such things as the following:

From every angle of the deck that seemed to wrap around much of the house, there was a view of the downtown city skyline. All the iconic Seattle symbols were there—the Space Needle, Elliott Bay, a couple of ferries, Mt. Rainier. It was the most stunning view of the city she’d ever seen from a private home.

“Oh. My. God.” She apparently said it loud enough for him to hear. He came out and stood beside her, his hand over hers on the railing. She stepped away from him, trying to be casual about it.

“I had the same reaction the first time I saw the house,” he said. “As soon as I saw this view, I made an offer. Didn’t even ask for an inspection and never saw the bedrooms until I moved in.”

“Marius, this is the most amazing…”

He traced her cheekbone with his index finger. “Say that again.” His voice was warm and husky.

She moved back a step and gave him a puzzled look. “This is the most amazing…?”

“No, the first part. Say my name again.”

“Why?”

“I like hearing you say it.” He lifted her hand from the railing and, overcoming her initial resistance, brought it to his mouth and kissed it. “I’ll like it even better when you’re in my arms and say it. When you’re in my bed.”

                                           *                  *                  *                 *

*sigh*  Sorry I can’t help but think that’s the most romantic thing any man could do to melt your heart. From the words to the kiss on the hand, it’s swoon-worthy in my book. He hadn’t even kissed her yet.

TRUSTING AGAIN is from beginning to end, one of the most romantic, the most scintillating, and the most endearing stories I’ve read in this series. Marius is every kind of man rolled into one and Cynthia is his perfect match.

I highly recommend TRUSTING AGAIN by Peggy Bird to everyone who loves romance. Simply, easily, and most honestly, it will make you sigh and wish you were in Cynthia Blaine’s shoes.

Happy Reading Everyone!

About the Author:

Born in Philly, I’ve spent most of my adult life in the Pacific Northwest where I have happily grown webs between my toes and moss behind my ears. I pursued a number of careers—nurse, legislative staffer, lobbyist, public
affairs consultant, non-profit association executive, workshop teacher, oh, and mother and wife—before deciding to leave it all for what I’ve loved through every stage of life—writing. I've been published in anthologies, magazines, newspapers and in the brochures, newsletters and reports of my consulting clients and employers. Unless you count speeches for politicians, I'd never written fiction until a cast of characters began inhabiting my daydreams. A glass artist and a gallery owner were there. So were a sculptor and a jewelry designer. When some dead bodies showed up, a couple of cops and a deputy DA arrived. Soon they began to fall in love with each other and work for their happy ending. Bingo. I was a romance writer.
